The Library-cum-Documentation is an important Unit of Southern Regional Centre, Bengaluru, and it is located in the heart of the City. The Library-cum-Documentation Unit provides various original sources, reference titles/books, documents to the scholars and students. The collection of library consists of history of south India, Gazetteers, Epigraphical sources, Numismatics, Ethnographical studies, Economic history, Photographic collections, Archival documents, Rare collections and Collected works of eminent personalities. The Library collections include around 20,000 books, 800 maps and also the library subscribes a good number of Journals. Library has received Important publications from various institutions/Universities such as Deccan College PG & R.I., Pune; Karnatak University, Dharwad; Kannada Research Institute, Karnatak University, Dharwad; National Archives of India, New Delhi; Veerashaiva Adhyayana Samsthe, Gadag; Kannada University, Hampi; Sri Shreenivasa Mandiram Charities, Bengaluru; Andhra Pradesh History Congress; Tamil Nadu History Congress; The Mythic Society, Bengaluru as complimentary copies. The Library-cum-Documentation Unit has also been providing information/documents to the readers from the Collection of published and popular articles. The E-Resource Centre of library has access to online databases such as JSTOR and important electronic journals.
